Angela Wu, LCPC
Hello! I’m a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) located in Towson, Maryland. I am also a National Certified Counselor (NCC). I strive to have an authentic and collaborative therapeutic relationship that creates space for positive growth. My approach to counseling is action oriented, intentional, compassionate and intuitive. It is my privilege to support clients and help them feel seen, heard and valued.
Outside of therapy, I am a married mother of three children. In my daily life I am constantly learning new strategies for supporting others with ADHD. Living with chronic health issues has taught me to be intentional with my energy and focus on what matters most. My goal isn’t perfection—just being the best parent I can be. When I am not caregiving or working with clients, I can get lost in an audiobook, dance class or interior design.
I believe true change happens with a mind body approach. When we take time to consider the interconnectedness of our mind and body, we invite lasting change. In the therapeutic setting, we often take note of where feelings are showing up in our bodies and practice mindfulness exercises to stay grounded in the moment. One step in my own journey of mind body connection has been becoming an ACE Certified Group Fitness Instructor and Les Mills Body Pump Instructor.
As an ADHD-Certified Clinical Services Provider, I help clients understand how their thought patterns and attention processes shape emotions, behaviors, and daily functioning. Together, we explore strategies to recognize and redirect unhelpful thinking, build focus, and create more supportive routines. I believe meaningful progress happens between sessions as well—through collaborative, achievable homework like practicing new organization habits, managing emotional responses, or reinforcing positive self-talk.
I am additionally certified in Motivational Interviewing, which supports clients in finding their own desire for change without pressure.
Another modality I use is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, which helps clients change how they relate to their thoughts and feelings so those experiences do not control their lives. The goal is to become more psychologically flexible: stay present, make room for discomfort and move toward a meaningful life.
Therapy is a collaborative process. I help clients explore what is keeping them stuck, clarify values, and strengthen their own reasons for change —without pressure, quick fixes or judgement.
